PRINCIPAL CREATIVE

Studio Bound is lead by Patrick Larsen, an Emmy Award–winning production designer and creative director known for crafting bold visual experiences that blend artistry, narrative, and technical precision. His body of work spans theatre, opera, television, galleries, themed environments, and monumental live events.

He began his career shaping large-scale brand experiences with some of the world’s most prolific creative firms: Sr Designer at Imagination (2005–2007), VP, Design Director at Jack Morton Worldwide (2007–2011), and Chief Creative Officer at Pico Creative Arts (2012–2015). In 2015, he founded Studio Bound as a multidisciplinary creative studio specializing in stage design, scenography, character and costume design, multimedia, and immersive show concepts.

His portfolio includes projects for Warner Bros. World, Universal Studios Singapore, Shanghai Disney Resort, BBC (Wimbledon, Rio 2016), NBC Universal, Puy du Fou, and Singapore’s National Day Parade (2019). International credits include La Jolla Playhouse, Utah Festival Opera, The Skylight Opera, Strovolos Theatre (Cyprus), Resorts World Sentosa, and multiple collaborations with Franco Dragone; Land of Legends in Antalya, Steam Journey and Splendor in Wuxi, Amystika in Las Vegas, Souk Wonders and Terhal in Riyadh. He also collaborates extensively with Five Currents, contributing to the Expo 2020 Dubai opening/closing ceremonies and Bob Marley: Hope Road at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas.

Guided by a belief in the power of live experience to shape cultural meaning, Patrick approaches design as a balance of vision and execution—partnering with engineers, fabricators, and collaborators to transform ambitious concepts into reality. His work strives for simplicity, resonance, and accessibility, creating spaces that feel alive, emotionally charged, and unforgettable.

Patrick holds an MFA from the University of California, San Diego, and currently lives in Bali, Indonesia, with his wife and five boys.

Chen Wei Hsin, DESIGN DIRECTOR

Wei Hsin’s journey with Studio Bound began in 2017. From the very beginning, his curiosity, precision, and dedication set him apart, and over the years he has grown into a central creative force within the studio. He has guided projects that merge bold imagination with technical excellence, delivering landmark experiences internationally.

His expertise spans early-stage concept design, 3D modeling, high-impact visual renderings, and detailed technical drawings. This breadth of skills enables him to bridge artistic vision with practical execution, ensuring that each project is realized with clarity and impact.

He provides guidance throughout the design process, bringing together diverse expertise to move ideas forward with both creativity and technical precision—an essential quality for Studio Bound’s multidisciplinary approach.

Joseph Aphram, LEAD DESIGNER

Before joining Studio Bound, Joseph built his career in New York, working with some of the world’s leading broadcast design companies. That experience honed his ability to craft striking visual concepts with clarity and impact, skills that continue to define his work today.

An exceptional concept designer and a talented fine artist, Joseph brings both imagination and craft to every project. At Studio Bound, he heads up many of the studio’s signature projects across the Middle East, where his creative vision and artistic sensitivity help transform ambitious ideas into immersive experiences that connect with audiences on a grand scale.

As both a designer and a leader, Joseph embodies the Studio Bound ethos: pushing boundaries, refining craft, and creating spaces and stories that resonate with audiences around the world.

Budi Setyo, CONCEPT & 3D DESIGNER

Budi Setyo is a concept designer and 3D designer whose hand touches nearly every project at Studio Bound. With a keen eye for form and detail, he brings clarity and precision to even the most complex ideas, helping transform concepts into efficiently realized visual worlds.

Highly skilled across a broad range of 3D modeling software, Budi also brings expertise in 3D printing, extending his designs from the digital realm into tangible prototypes and models. His ability to balance artistry with functionality makes him an invaluable part of the Studio Bound team, ensuring that each project is built on a foundation of strong design and thoughtful execution.

Yohanes Arya Duta, CONCEPT DESIGNER

Arya is a concept designer whose career spans multiple creative worlds. Before shifting into live entertainment design, Arya built a prolific career in product design, where precision, innovation, and storytelling through physical forms defined his work. Today, he brings those same strengths to the stage, combining a sharp design eye with advanced skills in 3D modeling and rendering to help realize bold, large-scale visions.

Beyond Studio Bound, he is also the Co-Founder of Yayasan Muwara Daya Kultura, a nonprofit collective focused on research and development projects across Indonesia, where his commitment to design extends into cultural and community impact.

Michael Francis, MFA- SET DESIGNER

Michael Francis is a multimedia scenographer whose work bridges experiential, theatrical, and production design. With an MFA in Directing from the University of Iowa, he approaches every project through the lens of storytelling —shaping spaces that unite technology & performance to create impactful, immersive narratives.

Specializing in non-linear theatre and experiential projects, Michael’s creative vision balances artistry with technical precision, while his directorial background fosters a deeply collaborative process. At Studio Bound, Michael continues to push the boundaries of scenography, crafting adventurous momentum that resonates on both an intimate and spectacular scale.

Deepika Das, ART DIRECTOR

Deepika is a multidisciplinary designer whose work spans concept design, art direction, and visual renderings across theatre, film, live events, and experiential spaces. Specializing in scenography and storytelling, she crafts immersive worlds that blend narrative depth with spatial design, bringing emotionally resonant environments to life.

Outside of Studio Bound, she runs Designa Humana, a passion project documenting artisans worldwide and celebrating cultural narratives. Her global explorations enrich her design practice with a strong sense of place, craft, and storytelling.

Jacob Clawson, ASSOCIATE DESIGNER

For Jacob Clawson, design is equal parts craft and adventure. As he begins his professional career, he is already building a portfolio that spans theatre, education, film, and large-scale interactive art. With formal training in Scenic Design from both Utah State University and Snow College, he gained experience designing mainstage productions, managing scene shops, and creating immersive installations. At Studio Bound, Jacob applies his skills in concept design, rendering, and technical drafting to projects that merge artistry and innovation into memorable, interactive environments.
